Kenneth Oran Short was born in San Antonio, Bexar, Texas on 5 Oct 1925 and died in Kerrville, Kerr, Texas on 30 Nov 1968. He was the son of Oran Wesley Short and Leila Kate Benton Short.

He married Betty McGuffin. They had two children:

Mary Katherine Short (1946 - living) who married Franklin
Olenick (1942 - living) and

   Kenneth Wesley "Pete" Short who married
       Gayle Ohara (1948 - living) in 1966 and
       Maria Ataede (1947 - living) in 1997.
