John William Woods was born in Arkansas in March of 1837 and died in Kendall County, Texas in 1910. He was the son of Joseph Woods (1800 - 1870) and Elizabeth Dancer Woods (18 Jun 1817 - 22 Aug 1872). He is buried in an unmarked grave next to his wife.
He married Lucinda Edge Short on 12 Sep 1867.
They had at least five children:
