St Hedwig, Bexar County, Texas on 23 Mar 1997. He was the son of
Edwin John Merz and
Annie Ophelia Short Merz.
He married Bonnie Davis. They had three children:
Allen Woodrow Merz (1939 - living) who married Mary Thompson;
Mary Ellen Merz (1945 - living); and
Michael Anthony Merz (1957 - living).
