Walter Edwin Eckermann was born 26 Jun 1913
in Bracken, Comal, Texas and died in Kerrville, Kerr, Texas on 30 Jul 1995.
He was the son of Adolph Richard Eckermann and Elise Minna Straach Eckermann.
On 19 Sep 1935 he married Violet Smith in San Antonio, Bexar, Texas. They had three children:
Elizabeth Cecile Eckermann (8 May 1937 - living) who married Robert Allen Shapley;
Walter Edwin Eckermann (9 Nov 1938 - 1960 - lost at sea); and
Sharon Eckermann (1944 - died in infancy).
